Industry: Construction Chemicals
Position: General Manager
Due to aggressive expansion into the burgeoning China market, our Client commenced a search for a Country General Manager to take charge of operations in the China market.
The Client required the role to be filled by an expatriate candidate trained in Sales and Marketing, as well as having practical experience dealing in the China market. He or she should also be proficient in Mandarin.
With these requirements in mind, Fitco-Consulting conducted an in-depth headhunting exercise which shortlisted 5 candidates in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada. Following a series of interviews to identify the best person suited for the job, an appointment was made to a Singaporean candidate who had 10 years of experience in the particular industry and market.
Industry: Pharmaceutical
Position: Regional Commercialization Manager (South East Asia)
Fitco-Consulting was commissioned by the Client to search for an experienced Regional Commercialization Manager to head a new business team.
As the Client operates in a niche area of pharmaceutical products, the number of competitor companies with potential candidates was limited to only 3. Hence it was vital that all possible candidates were identified and approached. Moreover, as multiple potential candidates were selected within the same organizations, it was of paramount importance that the search process and details be kept confidential.
The Client's initial plan was to recruit a Senior Product Specialist for the region to initiate and head the regional expansion into South East Asia. However, with the information gathered from the first round of interviews, Fitco-Consulting advised the Client that the candidates at that level lack the skill and know-how needed to fulfil the Client's plans for new market penetration. Thus, the Client made the decision to change the role to that of Regional Commercialization Manager.
After several rounds of interviews, Fitco-Consulting narrowed the selection of candidates and eventually appointed a Regional Commercialization Manager with 8 years of experience. In addition, Fitco-Consulting also helped to identify an additional Country Manager in Philippines as well as a Senior Product Specialist which were subsequently employed by the Client.

Position: Regional Sales Manager (Southeast Asia)
Client was looking to build their Senior Account Management team and wanted to specifically target a small number of employees from their competitors.
On behalf of the Client, Fitco-Consulting executed a targeted and well-defined headhunting exercise to seek out the best person for the job. After several rounds of interviews, Fitco-Consulting identified an experienced candidate with an outstanding track record from a major competitor in the industry. This was well-received by the Client who offered appointment to the selected candidate.

Position: Global R&D Director
The Client, a top FMCG company, required a qualified R&D Director with niche research experience to build a global R&D centre in Asia.
Prior to the engagement of Fitco-Consulting's services, the Client had worked with several other headhunting companies for more than a year, but failed to find a suitable candidate for the job.
After an in-depth discussion with the Client, Fitco-Consulting was able to better define the search, and narrow the target list of competitor companies to the top 10 companies internationally. Following that, Fitco-Consulting executed a headhunting exercise within Asia, but found no suitable candidates within this region.
Hence, Fitco-Consulting provided a detailed search report to the Client and discussed the next steps in the search. With the agreement of the Client, Fitco-Consulting started its search in the United States and Europe and identified 3 potential candidates in North America, of which the most promising was eventually chosen.
Going beyond just searching for the ideal talent, our consultants trained in cross cultural leadership coaching also helped with the transition as the successful candidate relocates from North America to Asia.

Position: Senior Business Development Manager
Client is a global relocation company specialising in international relocation services. As the company is going through an exciting period of growth, a Senior Business Development Manager was needed to help propel the company into the next stage.
As the Client's industry is new and emerging, it was not advisable to search for candidates within industry competitors as this would severely limit the selection pool. Instead, candidates were shortlisted from the hospitality industry which was very similar to the Client's industry. This provided us with a bigger pool of talent to choose from, and at the same time ensured that the candidates are equipped with similar service skills and sales experience. This helps to minimize cross-industry problems and lowers the learning curve hiring risk, thus making the transition to a new industry much easier.
Fitco-Consulting conducted a search in 40 top five-star hotels in the country, and identified an outstanding candidate with a star record.
